Prairie Skies - The Drive to the Farm
My dad and Rowena had just been at the Farmer's Market in Winnipeg, and I had just played a show with Jann, I flew out from Nanaimo with Darcy. It was great to see everyone again. The band had drinks before the show, then Russ, Darcy, Maury and I had a bite to eat at Hues on First (shouldn't that have an apostrophe?).
Anyway...I had boxes from the farmer's market all around me, and my neighbours in the back seat were some flowers from the garden, I just had enough room to take photos out the window of the car, here is what I saw...

Winnipeg
Got to meet up with my friends when Jann played a show in Winnipeg.
Since I've been traveling I haven't seen them for a while. The gig
was not without stress, as Darcy and I BOTH lost luggage on our flight
from Nanaimo, and of coarse, they were the bags we NEEDED for the show.
Not only that, but Air Canada charged me $25 extra baggage fee, so they
could properly handle and loose my GUITAR! Money well spent...
I didn't get any good shots of Darcy because he was running around SO
much trying to get his gear (that only arrived an hour or so before
the show) to work!

"Jamming" with Tracy & Friends
First you start with freshly picked wild BC Himalayan Blackberries...
Don't let the cat eat them..
this is cool (water is boiling in a pot now)
take photos while everybody else does all the work....
Jam is being made....cool mirror...love my new Nikon D700
Jars have to be sterilized by boiling them, 5 minutes if you are at sea level, which we ARE!!!
I think you add a minute for every 1000 feet above sea level you are...maybe...
good think I wasn't in charge...
Jammer
Working hard, good feng shui, with the mirror
Another “jammer”
Takin’ a break from the jam, BC style
All the jammers in one place (kind of)
Just the FOURTEEN jars of jam then? no problem
the fruits of ‘our’ labour
Jammin’ Jammin’ Jammin’ Jammin’
We hope you like Jammin’ too!

Moraine Lake
I drove up to Lake Louise, and then to Moraine Lake.
I used to ski here with my parents and Aunt, Uncle and Cousins when I was a kid. I think the lodge and gift shop is new though, I think it's one of the most beautiful places in the world.
I saw a chipmunk posing for me.

I would love to rent a canoe and explore the lake...

The sky was perfect.

The light was so 'warm', it was great to be out on such a perfect day.

Banff
I'm in Banff now, writing songs, bike riding, avoiding the grizzly bears. This is the view from Banff Central Park. I think that is the Bow River than runs through Banff, it's such a beautiful green.

My Boler Adventure
I decided to sell my loft in Toronto, along with most of my worldy possessions, buy a Boler, and travel across Canada writing an album.
This is what a Boler looks like. This was taken while camping in the Cypress Hills (Saskatchewan side). I stayed for a week.
I had no power but I used a 15 watt solar panel to recharge my batteries everyday (2 12 volt deep cycle batteries), so I could use my computer to record demos at night.
